In order to save his sister, Yonah, who fell terminally ill to the Black Scrawl, he sets out with Grimoire Weiss, a strange talking tome, to search for the “Sealed verses.”

Biographical Notes:

Jun Eishima is a Female Japanese Novelist. Her extensive backlist includes stories set in the Final Fantasy, NieR, and Drakengard universes. Under the name Emi Nagashima, she has also authored The Cat Thief Hinako’s Case Files, among other works. In 2016, she received the 69th Mystery Writers of Japan Award (Short Story division), for the title “Old Maid.”

Yoko Taro is the game director for the NieR and Drakengard series.

Title Notes:

The original NieR came out in 2010 and over the years grew into a cult classic among RPG fans.

The story told in this novelization expands upon the game and provides fans with new information and a broader context for understanding the characters and their motivations.

Since the release of the original NieR game in 2010 there has been a robust amount of tie-in media and products, including stage plays, live concerts, soundtracks, DLCs.
