Biographical Notes:
Hitoshi Ashinano is a manga creator from Japan best known for Kabu no Isaki, Kotonoba Drive, and the award-winning Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou (which was adaptated into anime). He is best known for being the author & artist of Kotonoba Drive, Kabu no Isaki, Kumabachi no Koto, PositioN, and Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou.
Most noted for Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou, for which he won Afternoon magazine’s Four Seasons Award for debut works and the 2007 Seiun Award for Best Science Fiction Manga.
Title Notes:
The series won the 2007 Seiun science fiction award for Best Manga in Japan. Despite never being officially released in English in North America, the series has been praised in publications including The Comics Journal and the academic journal Mechademia.
