Wistoria: Wand and Sword Vol. 07
The new, magical dungeon-adventure fantasy series from the author of Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? Seeking to fulfill a promise to a childhood friend, Will Serfort enters Regarden Magical Academy with the goal of making it to the top of the magical world. There’s just one problem: he can’t use magic! Will his sword skills be the key to unlocking his true potential?
THE MAGEBLADE
Regarden is left reeling after a host of monsters crashes the Terminalia festival. With the Magia Vander having exhausted all their magic repairing the Great Barrier, Will and the remaining mages are the Tower’s last line of defense. Yet this enemy may be too much even for Will…unless the Icemaiden can give him the edge he needs.
Biographical Notes:
Fujino Omori’s light novel debut, Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?, received the 4th GA Bunko Award in Japan and went on to receive adaptations across several different media. Wistoria: Wand and Sword marks an entirely new series for the author.
Toshi Aoi is best known for being the artist of Wistoria: Wand and Sword.
Title Notes:
The author’s previous series, the massive hit Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?, has received an ongoing, multi-season anime adaptation, a film adaptation, and light novel spin-offs.
The wizarding school setting and dungeon adventure elements will appeal to both traditional fantasy readers and RPG fans, putting this in the same category as The Misfit of Demon King Academy and The Hero Life of a (Self-Proclaimed!) Mediocre Demon
Strong RPG elements will give this a lot of overlap with isekai fandom (even though it’s not technically an isekai title).
