It’s such a sweet story about all kinds of love- familial, friendship, and of course romance. That all the characters are precious anthropomorphized woodland creatures just adds a little extra here. There are surprisingly several heartbreaking moments in this, as we learn just why these characters want a refuge so badly. But there’s also humor and new beginnings. The cover couple is the main one, but there are two others here and I love all three of them.

The art is stunning. The story has me hooked. And the characters are all interesting. I love the pacing and how we learn just enough of their backstories to keep me hooked and feeling emotional. There are definitely some sad and heart wrenching moments. Highly recommend!
