Title Notes:

Dark Humor: Unafraid to find laughter in dark topics like death and despair, this work charges into sometimes uncomfortable territory, similar to hit Sayonara, Zetsubou-Sensei (and to a lesser extent, The Voynich Hotel). The title of the series can be considered a reference to a real Japanese novel masterpiece, written shortly before the author’s death by suicide.

Manga fantasy/isekai fans are familiar with a spectrum of unique genre tropes that this story is only too happy to skewer.

Inspired by a real-life literary luminary, the depressive hero is wholly at odds with the typical isekai escapism that surrounds him.
