Yukiyo reaches a point where he has to choose between Itsuka and Aki. Nao and Yuma come to visit Yukiyo in Tokyo, and they all run into Omu-sensei, who makes a shocking announcement. A distraction at work causes Yukiyo to herniate his back, which uproots him from his life in Tokyo. While recuperating at home in the countryside, he finds that he has almost too much time to think about his current situation…

Biographical Notes:
Mitsurou Kubo (pen name for Mitsuko Kubo) was born in Sasebo, Nagasaki in 1975. She made her manga debut at the age of 21, partnering with authors or lyricists to adapt their work for a pair of women’s anothologies. Her first original work, 3.3.7 premiered in the legendary Shonen Magazine (publishers of Fairy Tail and Negima) and ran for ten volumes. She followed that up with another Shonen Magazine series call Tokyuu; a twenty volume long series about an officer in the Japanese Coast Guard. While Tokyuu was her breakthrough, Moteki catapulted her into a new stratosphere.
The series written for the men’s magazine Evening was an instant multimillion unit seller and inspired a television drama and motion picture. Kubo’s success would lead her having her own columns about writing and modern women in Japanese society. She has hosted a few weekly radio shows and is a regular television commentator. Ans she recently began writing screenplays for television including the award winning international sensation YURI on Ice!
Title Notes:
Breakthrough Work from Trendy Author: While this may be Mitsurou Kubo’s English Language debut she has been working in Japan since 1996. Moteki was her breakthrough hit over there as it inspired a number of adaptations and lead her to working in TV and film.
Accessible Romance: Many Japanese romances tend to have lot of nudity or sex. Moteki bucks that trend by relying on character development and story-telling in this fun coming of age story between 30-somethings.
Accessible Presentation: Similar to works like Girl on the Shore and Mysterious Girlfriend, each volume of Moteki will collect more than 400 pages worth of comic art providing value to readers while also getting the series to them faster at a larger trim size.
