Biographical Notes:

Manga artist Ai Tanaka debuted in the Kodansha magazine ITAN in 2010 before winning broad acclaim for her three-volume series Apple Children of Aeon. Her most recent work is King in Limbo, which is being published in English by Kodansha.

Title Notes:

A disabled veteran protagonist discovers that the sleeping sickness that killed millions feeds on traumatic memories in the brain to survive, and where other doctors erase these memories, his partner believes our trauma helps make us who we are–a relatable conundrum for anyone who has experienced injury or loss.

Following in the tradition of Naoki Urasawa and such manga as Death Note, King in Limbo mixes appealing male character designs with a sophisticated, detailed globetrotting setting.
